I was asked to design a logo and a look for projected slides during services for Bethel Tabernacle in Paducah, KY, to update and unify their existing visual identity. Pastor Richard Phillips wanted the logo to incorporate one or more Hebrew characters to show his background in Hebrew Studies and Jewish culture.
Bethel Tabernacle Logo
After much research, we decided that 1 of 3 characters would be used with the character “Mem” ultimately being chosen. It was chosen for its meaning of water/flood which has a large spiritual significance for the mission of the church. Paducah also being a large port on the Ohio River, and the fishing activities of much of the congregation also influenced this choice.
We also explored several color schemes
I provided them with three distinct options
